In hard mode the 's Albion Skunk takes 50% more damage and deals 25% less damage. New players should not be put off by the "Hard" difficulty, since ultimately it has very little impact on gameplay and can even be viewed as an improving feature when looking for combat. Very Hard is only needed for a pilot bail achievement which can be attempted with any start. Hard mode has been chosen because it is the highest difficulty needed to complete the campaign and get access to most achievements.
